About our tours

Lost Frontiers operates tribal and ethnic programs in Asia, the Middle East and Africa focusing on areas where there are intact cultures as well as places of tremendous physical beauty. Many are remote and less traveled, but all offer exotic and authentic adventures to some of the most interesting and colorful people on earth.

We personally field research each of our trips incorporating over 30 years of living and travel experience abroad to make each one an unforgettable adventure. The destinations and areas we visit are chosen because we care deeply for them and have close ties with the tribes and villagers who are our hosts.

As experts in tribal travel, we design our trips so that there's enough time to meet with local people and understand something of their traditional cultures. We are also flexible with our itineraries and can include unforeseen events such as celebrations or ceremonies that we might otherwise miss. Although some of our trips are rugged, we strive to use the best hotels and camps available, to provide great food and ensure your safety throughout.

Lost Frontiers believes that we are priviledged to visit the worlds of our hosts who often don't have the same advantages as we do. To this end, we support a number of scholorships for poor children in Kenya, give scholactic materials to several remote schools in the Sahara and provide funds to the Kalash in Pakistan to help them conserve their forest lands from illegal logging.
