Custom Programs

Lost Frontiers is always directly involved in the field research that goes into making each of our programs a unique and unforgettable experience. As such, we can design special departures to capture special opportunities and customize them to meet your special interests. Our scheduled departures are limited to less than 10 members so that when you visit a village or encampment, it isn’t an overwhelming experience for our hosts. Smaller groups also allow us to stay in our own private quarters amongst the Kalash in Rumbur or in Tuareg encampments in an oasis of Timia in the Sahara.

Because of our experience in developing trips, we are able to assist you in designing custom departures and can provide you with the in-depth knowledge on each area you may wish to visit. Once we understand your interests, we work with you to include these in the program which might include hiking programs, extending visits to certain tribal areas or deviating to places that are not on our ordinary itineraries. We work with you from booking your air tickets to hotel choices to ensure you receive the highest quality and service possible. This is then detailed in a comprehensive information pack which includes a day to day itinerary, visa application forms, background information on the countries to be visited, emergency contacts, packing lists, information on what you should expect on the program and book lists for further reading.

On occasion, Lost Frontiers offers Special Exploratory Programs that are different, educational and always fun. Our plans in the near future are to offer an African Tribal Art tour to the culturally rich world of West Africa, a textile tour to Southeast Asia and a photographic tour to Pakistan. Somewhat different from our ordinary offerings is a Shopping Tour of India that includes palace hotels, fabulous sightseeing and unbelievable shopping in some of the world’s most fascinating bazaars and private collections. Each tour will be lead by an internationally recognized expert who will be available to teach and show you special places and crafts making your trip unique and memorable.
